Enabling Wi-Fi (or 4G) on Your Windcave Terminal

This guide explains how to enable Wi-Fi on your Windcave payment terminal. This is important because it provides a reliable fallback option for your terminal's connectivity. By setting up Wi-Fi, you can ensure a stable connection, which is crucial for processing payments smoothly and avoiding disruptions in your business operations.

Prerequisites: You must have physical access to your Windcave terminal and the Wi-Fi network's name and password. You also need to have administrator permissions.

The Windcave terminal can operate using either 4G or a local Wi-Fi connection. While 4G is the default, enabling Wi-Fi provides a backup to ensure transactions can be processed even if the 4G signal is weak or unavailable. This is an essential part of maintaining reliable payment processing for your customers.

Step-by-Step Process 4G>Wi-Fi

This guide provides instructions for two different Windcave terminals: the Move500 and the CHU200TL. Choose the appropriate section for your device.

Option 1: Contact Windcave Support

This is the simplest option. Windcave has a dedicated support team that can help you remotely.

  1. Send an email to support@windcave.com requesting assistance to enable Wi-Fi on your terminal.

  2. Follow the instructions provided by the Windcave support team. You may be asked to download their remote support software from their website.

  3. Windcave's support hours are 8am - 9pm on weekdays and 9am - 5pm on weekends.

  • When prompted, type in your WiFi password. Then press ENTER.
